About John

John Guttilla is a partner in the Firm’s Financial Services Group in Marcum’s Saddle Brook, New Jersey office. He performs detailed tax structuring analyses relating to acquisitions and dispositions of real estate for public and private syndicates, commercial and residential developers, management companies, and hotels.

John is also actively involved in tax planning and compliance for a wide range of industries, including entertainment, brokerage, manufacturing, printing, restaurant, and construction.

John’s experience includes being an audit engagement partner on public company clients and serving as an audit committee chairman for several public companies.

He has been awarded the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Certificate of Educational Achievement in Business Valuation and has passed the NASD Series 27 Examination for Financial and Operations Principals.

John joined Marcum in 2022 via a merger with RotenbergMeril, where he co-managed the Real Estate Services Group, including the firm’s real estate tax certiorari audit practice serving large real estate investment trusts and individual commercial and residential property owners.
